Mega architectural projects in the city center of Seoul, housing eviction and segregation, transforming the land property thus harming the ecology/water and green areas that surrounds the city....are them main issues that has been going on since 2000s which we do witness similar issues around the cities.
Local activists and artists initiatives organizing interdisciplinary meetings, demonstration and projects in order to create public awareness and critical discourses on spatial practices. A long run project by artist/activist Eunseon Park, and other friends of video activists are trying to focus and take the attention of the privatization process of public spaces and changes of governmental policies on housing and privatization. Alternative architectural schools and public urban pedagogy could be one of the most important way right now in order to strengthen not only the solidarity but also develop and search ways of commoning among different citizens, groups.
